Public Policy

Industrialization is a key part of any development effort to lift the disenfranchised majority in any developing society out of poverty, unemployment and underemployment. Industrialization efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa seem to have suffered a case of arrested development, delaying the ushering in of an era of mass prosperity. We at ITSRLab understand that well designed and aggressively implemented public policy is key for successful industrialization. Our research will provide policy makers with insights needed to design policy that will change the production structure of an economy in favour of the manufacturing industry by channeling a government’s selected budgetary and non-budgetary resources and by channeling private capital, labour, and entrepreneurs towards the manufacturing sector.
